To Benefit The Carver Center Food Pantry in Port Chester
Through Wednesday, February 4, The Greenwich Blues are again joining forces with Southern Westchester and Connecticut ice hockey clubs and teams to take on a common rival, Hunger.
Each year many food drives take place around the holiday season and yet as we move into January, the demand remains but contributions drastically decrease. Fortunately, the hockey season is in full swing and we can help put a dent in hunger in our local area.
During this designated Hockey vs. Hunger week, we ask that each time a Greenwich Blues a player comes to Dorothy Hamill for a game or practice that they bring any of the most needed items below:
• Rice (up to 5 lb bags)
• Cereal (single boxes)
• Canned or Dry Beans
• Canned Tuna
• Canned Fruit
• Canned Soups
• Peanut Butter
• Cooking Oil (1 liter bottles or less)
• Shelf Stable Milk
And this year they are also requesting donations of
• Diapers (all sizes)
• Baby Formula (Powdered)
A collection box will be at the rink
This year we are also asking opponents who will play at our rink to also consider bringing contributions. This is a good message from our great organization! Last year we packed the shelves at the Carver Center during this food drive. This year, let’s do it again!
We welcome any and all ice hockey clubs and teams that are interested in participating this year or next year to email -
